As crises become more frequent and complex, the need for timely, ethical, and actionable data has become increasingly urgent. The UNESCO-CODATA Working Group on Data Policies for Times of Crisis Facilitated developed a comprehensive suite of resources aimed at tackling this challenge: a Factsheet, a Guidance Document, and a Checklist that are part of the UNESCO Open Science Toolkit.
These tools illustrate how open science principles, as outlined in the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, can be applied to support robust, coordinated, and transparent data policies during times of crisis.
